Gabrielle’s passionate focus on the peoples of Africa, especially the dignity and beauty of the African women, strikes a chord with all who view her work. The driving force of her artwork is to make us stop and notice; her message is deftly delivered with the beauty of her line, sublimity of her palette and the power of her captured moment.
In her own words Gabrielle translates this message,
“Africa makes me acutely aware of life and death. On the plains of the
Masai Mara and Serengeti there is no question about place or role in
the greater scheme of things. It’s pure survival. The African
landscape offers so many vital, brutal lessons about our primary needs
and desires.”
For art collectors this heralds that “uniqueness” for which they search; when an artist’s fresh perspective and meaningful contribution to culture collides with a lifelong pursuit of truth and a proven track record.
Now is the time to view Gabrielle Pool’s powerful and poignant imagery and to include her work in any well rounded art portfolio. As collectors clamour for her work, we see a new star is born, yet one with her feet firmly planted on the ground and her heart definitely in the right place.
